Doppler Ultrasound

At the Foot Health Clinic we use a technique called Doppler Ultrasound to accurately assess blood flow in the foot and to help us diagnose a range of vascular conditions within the foot. It is a non-invasive procedure that works by bouncing high frequency sound waves off theĀ  red blood cells within the foot.

This technique can be used on almost any patient and is of particular use in monitoring patients with diabetic foot complaints. Other conditions that can be assessed using doppler ultrasound are:

  • Blocked Arteries
  • Narrowing Of The Artery (Stenosis)
  • Calcification Of The Arterial Wall
